operation: koi
cool stuff. about 30 new kois arrived last sunday. this guy's actually gonna migrate to China, so it was a "gift" to my dad. yea. 2 of the fishes had this skin problem, so over the course of these few days my dad and i have been acting as fish doctors, tryin to help improve their condition. Those fishes were strugglin for dear life when i was applying potassium manganate on their wounds, that must've hurt plenty. Hope they recover soon.
Monday was a busy day. yes. OCIP bbq. Good fun. We played table tennis, as well as tennis at night under spotlights, it was quite cool. yea. played stupid games like whose line is it anyway, and erm..celebrated qibo and xue hui's b'day. cabbed back with aaron, xue, jun wei. it was the craziest cab ride i've ever had. Xue Hui was screaming, aaron was jumping in the taxi, and the taxi driver was quite shocked/bemused and was laughing at the 2 of them crazy idiots. We were having disputes over which direction to go and stuff..and xue hui and aaron just didn't wanna back down at all. We asked Xue hui to shut up, and she called us MCPs. Right. We were actually going towards hc from yio chu kang, and xue hui actually said that it'd be better if i got off first at school, before dropping aaron off who lives at lornie road. how bloody dumb is that. I got home. Turned on the comp, that's when i realised my doom arrived before schedule.
my dear SAT score couldn't have been worse. My dad came out, looked at the monitor screen, and juts said, son, u have really disappointed me, with this result u can't even get into a university. yes, believe it or not, i guess i've gotta think of something crazy just to get into a university now, at least if i'm gunning for one in the states. yeah. got some feedback from consultation. some told me to take it again, some advised against it, i shall await the reply of my most trusted advisor, who's none other than my dear brother. Oh well. I couldn't sleep that night cos reality just crept in very very slowly. When i got home from the bbq i was already very tired, but somehow the entire situation just shook me outta this daydream i was having. I just couldn't believe how bloody incompetent i am. There are some crazy people who got 2330 and 2390 outta 2400. Gee, that's definitely achievable, just that i've just gotta work this lil bit harder. well yeah not just a lil bit. sucks. I couldn't sleep till 4 that night. Tears just rolled down my cheek everytime a picture of the bloody mark surfaced in my mind. The very next day i was just feeling so distraught. My dad just couldn't stop harping on the issue. Gee. Like i didn't feel bad enough already. Oh well, sometime during the day, this line from "Batman Begins". Bruce Wayne's dad tells him: "Son, do u know why we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up."
Looking at the new koi swimmin around the pond is really a sight to behold. There are now 4 yellow fishes. 4! 4! 4! yellow! there's this really nice golden yellow dude. it looks really cool man. that was seriously random.
Been playing plenty of table tennis these days as well, haven't been doing much work, but somehow, all of a sudden, i've gotten into working mode, finishing the book i'm supposed to use for book review, and begun to ask around for homework. Okay. School's starting soon, go ME! oh yes, and one final note, if anybody would like to have a haagen dazs treat please tell me asap, i've got vouchers that expire on 31 dec. Yeap. Merry Xmas to all!
Hmm. Dunno why i've got random ppl tagging me. That's weird.

please be kind.
It's the second day this week i'm actually begging people to donate generously to a so-called worthy cause. yes. I shall keep this reasonably short, cos firstly it suits me, yes don't mind the pun, and i'm totally bummed out after doing about 8 hours of cip straight.
I would like to rant about Singaporeans, but bearing in mind the repercussions of doing so, i thought twice about the idea and decided to dispose of it. For any details please refer to aaron's blog. I do have to speak about an incident though. On Monday morning, when i was trying to raise funds for the Home Nursing Foundation, something interesting happened. Yes. I was, in my opinion, adequately, if not excessively polite towards the lady in requesting a magnanimous donation, but she just hollered "GO AWAY!" and just trodded off. What a bummer. She was the very first lady i approached. What an awesome way to kickstart the day. Oh well. At least aaron and i did quite a good job, i think. Met a couple of ppl, IE: Jingxi, Ms Tan Jon Lin my Sec 4 teacher, and quite a few kind souls i have to say. Met a few today as well. Special thanks to all Singaporean residents/tourists who actually made a purchase from such a poor salesman, i vow to do better in the days that follow. Thanks for just making my day much better, with just a simple smile, or just little words of encouragement such as "Thank you for your time." I appreciate it, even if you responded, with a little shake of the head, or a simple thanks. At least it's better than some others who treat fundraisers as encumbents in their path or just nonexistant people. I can't thank you enough (=
Oh yes, i've forgotten to mention, i'm actually raising funds for eldercare. If you haven't heard i'm now a Youth Challenge member, though not officially. So yeap. We are selling pens for 10 dollars, i know that's daylight robbery, but i swear that every single cent goes towards helping the elderly. So well, if you do see other youth challenge personnel please do not hesitate to walk forth and contribute. You don't have to buy a pen, just a donation of a few bucks will do. We will really appreciate it very much. Thank you. Okays, one day done, i sold 23 pens in about 9 hours i think..from 12 to 9..well i spent most of the time travelling and stuff..so yeah please don't be shocked or whatever. yes. My mum's friends helped to buy couple of the pens as well..kudos to them as well. I was only able to sell about 15 in woodlands with xue hui and der koon..got to meet charles and another aj guy..which was really cool. Thanks to both of you who were willing to part with ur 10 bucks. Awesome stuff. Anyways wish me luck in the days to come. (=
PS. I'm really beginning to fall in love with tennis. hehe.
Anyways, yeahh i've realised that Heidi "tagged" me. So here goes.

Just roll in the punches.
okies yeah i know i haven't blogged in a while. sorry bout that. been sick ever since comin back from thailand, still down with flu and cough and a bit of a fever i think. Yeah and was busy preparing for SAT the whole week..so didn't have time to blog. yups.
First things first, shall just talk about the trip to thailand. You'll realise that this entry is gonna be quite a pompous one, cos after studyin for SATs i've obviously gotta put the new words i've learnt to good use. yeap. okays i'll be as succinct as possible. this is gonna be a long entry i feel. Anyway. yeah if u haven't heard from me the trip to thailand was awesome. It was truly a gustatory extravaganza complimented with fond memories which have become nebulous in mi dumb head. We had REALLY good food for almost every meal. well can't really expect better food than that. yeap. I shall just talk about some events that occurred. For more details please refer to Royston, or Sista Pam's blogs for more info. yeap.
On the first day of teaching, something cool happened. My group was supposed to be teaching english at this secondary school. gee, to date i still have no idea what the school's called. what a disgrace. aye anyway. The students we were teaching were around our age. Some the same, some a little older, some 14, 15 years of age. yups. That morning, while everyone from the 2 classes we were supposed to teach congregated to watch a video on Singapore, showcasing Singapore's landmarks and stuff like that. yeah. It was totally boring. Even us Singaporeans couldn't stand the insipid video. However, during the course of the movie, suddenly someone threw this letter which was in the shape of a heart, with words "i love you" on it, and with the name "Sarawoot-something" just below it. hmm. it's exactly the same scenario that the teachers expected would happen in thailand and we actually sorta pre-empted it in Singapore during the pre-trip briefings. then the rest made a mountain outta a molehill outta it. they were like saying. woah. looks like Wang Hao's gonna be stuck in thailand, stuff like that. they even put the bloody letter on my back and took a pic of it. -_-" Anyway this Sarawoot person was in the other class that was taught by David, Hwee Bing, Sarah and Heidi...so i wasn't able to find out who this Sarawoot person is.
So over the course of the few days almost everyone just kept teasing me bout Sarawoot. -_-" Especially the group 1 ppl. Zzz. Oh anyway we taught em songs, like mary had a little lamb, played twister, pictionary charades and stuff like that. It was fun. haha. And Xue Hui got an admirer too. His name's New. yeah. coool name eh. he's an awesome football player. Likes Arsenal and plays like thierry henry. Xue Hui should feel honoured. I think she is. yeahh. Gee. I keep digressing. okay on the last day..David and Sarah kept telling me that i was gonna be in for a huge surprise. So well we were supposed to like give the students bookmarks as a token sorta thing..yup. And when it was Sarawoot's turn David just hollered at me and got me to go over to give Sarawoot the bookmark. When I called out Sarawoot's name..this guy(male) came up to me to collect the bookmark. and all the Singaporean "teachers" burst into laughter. rights. Anyway Xue Hui was sayin that guy's like the cutest student around anyway so i should feel happy. riiiiiight. geee. i am adamant that i will remain a homosexual for the rest of my life. i swear. yeah okay laugh all u want.
Anyway we played soccer with the students on a couple of occasions. Man the thai girls are seriously intrepid man. They ain't scared of the ball at all. They can play really well. Even better than some guys from singapore i bet. The guys were damn skilful too. gee. But Aaron and I were having tonsa fun sparrin against them though. haha. Fun stuff. i scored a hat-trick on one occasion. lol. fun stuff man. Anyway we played soccer at the orphanage and the rehab centre too. yeah. we lost to the ppl at the orphanage. both teams. they were so bloody good la. passing the ball with such fluidity and aplomb. But i must say the girls Jasmine, Adrea, Yisin, Grace all did really well. Kudos to them. Played at the rehab centre. Gee i must admit. those guys who've lost their arms, have debilitated sensory systems, still play with plenty of determination. We lost to them 5-4. i missed like 3 golden chances to score. yawn. must go knock my head against the wall. gee. I must say it wasn't really a "level" playin field. There were plenty of potholes in the ground. yeah. Plenty of crazy things happened along the way anyway. Played angel-mortal game. I just made a wild guess and somehow i guessed my angel correctly. the most unlikely person. Mindy. lol. gee i rock man. hehe. Thanks to her and Adrea for gettin me a new bag (=
Aye anyway. I was planning on talkin bout some philosophical s***. but really. i think it'd be pointless. No point tellin u bout it unless u go experience it yourself. I'll try to put it through in 3 points anyway. well i guess these experiences they're based on one very simple choice. Whether or not you want to do it. Ultimately, u make the very decision that changes the course of your life. So well, you do whatever you want with it. The door is right there for you. whether you wanna walk through it or move on to the next or skip all the other doors and walk straight towards death it's ur choice. Just that goin through these doors will most likely make u a happier person and truly understand life even more. It will, i promise, make your life much more meaningful. Secondly, as you move on in life, do take a step to just chill. Really. Like what Bernard iriterates all the time, life ain't all bout mugging. Seriously the Thai kids live in a world of their own. I've realised how diligent in whatever they do. During lessontime, they seriously don't chat or whatever...they seriously put their heart and soul into learning. And you can really see how enthusiastic they are bout learning new stuff. It warms your heart that u are really able to help them. They work hard, they play hard too. Like what i said previously, they're really good at soccer. and u see how happy they are every single day. Living their lives with no worries. They're just so gleeful to come for sch everyday. Unlike us. lol. That's my final point. There are absolutely no yardsticks for happiness. There are no prerequisites. Seriously. These kids they don't really go to a school with fantastic facilities, they aren't affluent...but for some unknown reason, they are just so jubilant and chirpy everyday! It's really amazing y'know. So why don't we try to live life like the Thai kids, live everyday as if it were your last..treat every new day with respect and joy..i'm sure rich dividends will come your way. Remember, tomorrow will be better. =) Maintain that positive attitude no matter what. Life will be a totally awesome journey.

the perfect hat-trick.
today was kinda a dumb day. i walked by the darn security post in hc 6 times at least. went to sch to collect programme booklet for thailand, realised there were errors, went home to email it to ms lum again, went back to sch to collect my bag and left to go climbing with joan, went home den went back to sch to play soccer..and finally went home. only got home at like what 1930. and yes. i scored a perfect hat-trick today. lol. it was damn cool. i haven't been able to get any in my life before cos i've never been able to score via a header before..but today i did cos the cj ppl weren't really marking me. so yup. one left foot, one header, and one flick over the keeper with my right foot. wheee. anyways. for the last game my team lost to aiks' team 5-4. we were supposed to do pushups if we lost..but i was so in need to relieve my self (big time) that i couldn't do it. so hecked it. nobody did any pushups eventually anyway. i thought i'd be able to go home before relieving myself.. but as i was on my way down the slope from the office block..i really couldn't take it anymore. i chiong-ed down to the toilet beside the basketball courts..praying that they'd be open. if they were closed i think everything would've just come out. lol. luckily it was open. whew.
By the way. i'm leavin for thailand tmr. for ocip. once again i have this feeling that i'll die on this trip. oh wells. okays. everybody please take care. hurhur. i'll be back soon. i hope. (=
Anyways, went ubin yesterday. it was fun. haha. we(kwanghan, his friend ken and i) travelled to all those ulu parts. quite cool y'know. apparently the ken guy is super crazy. i noticed some of his antics. lol. he almost died while cycling cos he was like chionging down this steep hill. kwang says that when he was young, he actually poured kerosene into the toilet bowl and threw a matchstick in. lol. and the toilet ceiling still this a black patch..somewhere above the toilet bowl. lol. i wonder what constitutes the ingredients that make up the patch. lol.

somebody save me! (hopefully it's a girl)
today was an alright day. actually it was good. i woke up at 8. disciplined enough..completed the programme booklet for ocip and sent it to alex tan to check. set off for climbing at like 9 plus with joan and aiks. i actually wore the quiksilver slippers the family gave to my b'day. super geh kiang la. those stupid slippers gimme blisters on the instep of my foot for both feet, even before i was halfway through the day. climbing was good. i sorta got back my technique..were playing with the cats..lol. they're called peanut, coconut and yin. yang passed away some time ago. the cats around there are cute man.
yeah anw..went for "shopping" with the family plus brucie the shark in the afternoon. i was super late cos i couldn't walk at all with the blisters. yawn. anyway. tonsa hc ppl were in taka. the whole 72 class was there. 34 ppl were there. yeaps. anw. it was funny. it seemed like all the guys were shopping and the girls weren't gonna do so cos they didn't have the $$$. that's a first eh. yeah anyway. i wasn't planning on getting anything. we walked around orchard for like 4 hours. i was very tempted to get this super yellow adidas shirt. but well. it was kinda too loose..so didn't really like it. luckily i didn't get it. after leaving heeren we went to visitors centre where i got my vcd for thailand. it costs 22 bucks. a vcd showcasing singapore's attractions cost 22 bucks. right. quite disciplined i was. didn't buy anything. was tempted to buy new sunnies. but..nah. i like my current ones.
anyway. my dad's home from US now. sufferin from jet lag. dinner was super amusing. my mum suddenly told me. "hey u better watch out..don't be involved with such intense bodybuilding. so many of the bodybuilders are gays." oh man. like i've ever been involved in bodybuilding. den suddenly my dad came into the conv and said "Yeah u better be careful..u better not turn gay i tell you." omg. my parents have seriously lost their mind. argh. like i am ever gonna turn gay. seriously man. i swear i will never turn gay. oh jeez. i dunno if it's my antics or what recently. oh no. man. if they say i'm inclined to turn gay(going according to my parents' words)..den aiks is certainly more predisposed to become one more than i do man. i think he's gonna come murder me now. lol. i'd better run.

i continue to be pissed.
i couldn't play hotel california at all today cos i couldn't distinguish the tabs on the paper.
i seriously sucked at guitar today.
technique was off. way off.
i kept playing the bloody wrong strings.
it's probably cos i've got a swollen middle finger. i dunno how i got it too. probably from climbing last nite.
i almost killed aik chuan twice by not locking the carribena.
i've lost all confidence for climbing. i gotta climb more man.
off form for soccer. just kept giving the ball away.
but i still wanna play. (i used to be critical towards such ppl. i was thinkin..gee..this ppl really don't know they suck, do they? yeah i guess i really do suck. that's why i wanna play more)
pissed off by people. dun wanna say who of course.
i killed my dear acoustic fender today. my bro's so gonna kill me. the frigging knobs just fell off the guitar like nobody's business.
i spent so much effort trying to restring it..to no avail. dammit.
ended the day with a friggin headache. argh.
and i still can't find my specs.
